Tokoname kyusu Tea Pot with Ceramic Mesh

The form most commonly used for a Japanese tea pot is a yakode kyusu, with a handle protruding out the side of the vessel.
Traditionally, this enables an easy pour for guests sitting directly in front of you (as one would in a typical Japanese tatami mat room), and in occasional, rapid bursts by which the tea mixture is mixed (poured) into the pot.
